Shimane University Environmental Policy
According to the charter of Shimane University, based on cooperative consultation with faculty members and students, we actively promote the following activities towards the pursuit of an ideal work-life balance, and, ultimately, towards the development of a sustainable society in co-existence with nature:

Cultivation of capable personnel who can, while maintaining a global perspective, learn to stimulate action for environmental improvement.

Commitment to the amelioration of local and global environments in collaboration with local citizens, following dissemination of research outcomes.

Construction of a comfortable campus environment, which serves as the hub of knowledge and culture, following the drawing-up of a Campus Master Plan that the environment and a campus life harmonize.

Commitment to education, research, and medical practice considerate of the environment, with adherence to legal compliance, by carrying out consistent environmental reform and contamination prevention through resource and energy saving, recycling, green purchasing, and proper management of chemical substances.
