Our educa-tional purpose is to study society by making use of viewpoints in both fields.Regional communities have many problems to be solved; for example, the environment, declining birthrate and aging population, decentralization of power, hill and mountain areas, and promotion of communities to name a few. In addition, concerning the life of citizens, new movements in the fields of labor, family, and economy have become big issues.We expect students to gain the basic knowledge of law and economics, to apply them, and to acquire an ability of analyzing situations, formulating policies, and solving prob-lems.Department of Law and Economics
